My Favourite High End Serums

When I was much younger, I have never been bothered with serums, moisturizer itself is sufficient or so I thought. However, as the years passes and as the wrinkles and bloody fine lines popped up, I knew it was time to start taking better care of my skin and that was when I discovered the world of serums. And ladies, there was no turning back for me, ever.

I am lucky to receive these 2 very generous samples to try and am now ready to give my thoughts on the products. Both these products do not need any introduction as both have been on the market for a very long time and each has a cult following.

Elizabeth Arden Gold Ultra Restorative Capsules
I have been curious about this and my curiosity got worse after reading the rave reviews about this little miracle in a capsule. So you can imagine how happy and excited I was when I received a sample of this to try.

2 words, bloody brilliant! Hands down the best serum I have ever tried. The texture of this product is light oil and goodness me, this is heaven sent for my dry skin. It absorbs super quick (yes, that's how dry my skin is) and it does not make my skin oily nor does it leaves any tacky residue. I also did not detect any fragrance with this serum which will be a big Yay! for anyone who has a sensitive nose. I will admit that each capsules last me 3 usage because there is just so much serum in it and there is just no way I can use it all at one go...or maybe I just have a small face? I know some will argue that the serum will lose its potency but I personally feel there is no differences.

I have used this serum 9 nights in a row and I have never ever seen my skin in a better condition. I have been waking up to the softest smoothest radiant skin and I swear my fine lines are almost none. I kid you not about seeing such huge differences in my skin in such a short time. I have however stopped using this serum for 2 reasons; one, full size is bloody expensive and two, I don't want my face to get used to this and the serum lose it's effectiveness. I will be purchasing the full size of this (I could hear hubby dearest screaming nooooo at the background...) because this really is a miracle worker for my skin.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Synchronized Recovery Complex II
I actually received this serum first and have been using it religiously for a month. The texture is light liquid gel like and it takes longer to absorb. It does leave a slight tacky feeling on my face when I started massaging it but the tackiness will go away after a minute. Again, I did not detect any fragrance with this serum and a little does go a very long way.

This is a beautiful every night serum and it makes my skin looks so fresh the next morning. It does leave the skin feeling plump and hydrated which is something that I desperately need. I have read many reviews stating that it helps to even out skin tone but I have not noticed that result yet. However, I do generally have a pretty good skin so this effect may not be something that I will notice.

While this serum did not make me gasped and go all starry eye wow! like Elizabeth Arden's, it is still a fantastic product. Another product that I will be purchasing full size once the sample is finished and this will be my every night serum.

Do let me know if you are a firm believer in serum like me and if you are then please share what is your favourite serum!

    1. I do wish the prices to be slightly lower but I guess the result is worth the huge blow on the wallet. :-)
