REVIEW: The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream

The need for eye creams are a long debated subject. There are many who don't think it is necessary and then there are others like me who believe it is important to have in the skincare routine. If you refer to an article on Paula's Choice, she too stated that eye creams are unnecessary (read article here).

I personally am a believer in using eye creams to prevent fine lines and pesky wrinkles and have religiously used one since my very early 20s. The Body Shop Vitamin E Eye Cream was purchased last year before Christmas and I have been consistently using it for two month and it is safe to say, I am ready to give my thoughts on it.

REVIEW: SpookyEyes Contact Lens

It has been many years since I last wore contact lenses and even when I was wearing them, my eyes often felt uncomfortable after a couple of hours. Eye drops were my eyes best friend but after a while, the whole process was more troublesome than it was worth.

So you may wonder why did I even bother to try SpookyEyes contact lenses (check here)? I am dense at times and more often than not, I am a glutten for punishment but this time, I had a very good reason.

As you lovelies know, I don't dye my hair. I want to but I don't for a few reasons and one of the main reason is a strong objection from my better half and my eldest son. So what can a 36 year old woman who is diving head first into mid-life crisis (I kid!) do to change her looks?

Well, hello there coloured contact lenses!

I was kindly sent a pair of Blue Sparkle Contact Lenses* (check here) by SpookyEyes for review and after getting over my paranoia of poking my eyeballs out, here are my thoughts on it.

TAG TIME: The Beauty Scenario Tag

I told myself that I won't be doing anymore 'Tagged Post' for a longgg time, at least for the next few month but when the beautiful Gabrielle from A Glass of Ice tagged me to do this post, I just couldn't say no.

Looking back, this is my fourth tagged post and I have done Liebster Award (read here), The Secrets of Blogging Tag (read here) and the most recent, Versatile Blogger (read here). I promise that Tag Post will be taking a step back after this but for now, let's get to the unique questions!

1. You have to get rid of all of your foundations and only keep one high end and one drugstore, which do you keep?

Well, well, this is a little (a lot!) unfair and it feels like I am forced to choose a favourite child. LOL! Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua is definitely the high end foundation that I can't part with but I can't make up my mind between Catrice Nude Illusion and Rimmel Wake Me Up for drugstore. :-/

REVIEW: Sonia Kashuk Velvety Matte Lip Crayon (BERRY NUDE 06)

February was lip product month. I certainly didn't plan for it to be however, after my self-imposed makeup ban in January, I went absolutely nuts as soon as the first day of February arrived.

And I was the crazy lady whom you walk past the makeup aisle who has her head, hands and half her body buried in the clearance basket trying to look for a gem or two or ten.

I've wanted to try something (anything!) from Sonia Kashuk since forever but I have restrained myself due to the higher price point. What can I say, I am budget conscious.

So when Target liquidation sale started, guess who was standing in front of Sonia Kashuk aisle looking all starry eyed? Blame the huge 30% sale sign which was blaring bright like Las Vegas neon lights.

REVIEW: Korres Quercetin & Oak Anti Aging and Anti Wrinkle Face Serum

The name itself is quite the mouthful, eh? I swear my fingers are already tired just by typing this post's title.

For those of you who don't know, I am a self confessed serum addict. I swear by it and it's the one step in my skincare routine that I never skip. I personally feel that it's vital for me to use serums in my routine and it makes a huge differences to my skin.

I purchased Korres Quercetin & Oak Anti Aging and Anti Wrinkle Face Serum last year but it took me a long time to get into it. Somehow I wasn't as interested in using it as I did with my other serums.

Valentine's Day Golden Risotto

I know, I know...excuse the cheesy as f*ck name for this risotto. I had no idea what to call it and since this recipe was created for Valentine's day...well, hence the name. We are currently bombarded with Valentine's Day gift ideas so I thought I'll walk down a different route, a recipe for Valentine's Day instead of shoving another gift idea post into your face.

Valentine's Day, some of us love it, excited and looking forward to it and others, just plainly hate it. I'll be honest and confess that before I met my husband, I was one of the most miserable people (yes, more so than I usually am) that you'll ever meet in February.

Why? Never mind the fact that I was single, it was bloody pink everywhere! Pink roses, pink chocolates wrapped in pink boxes and even worse, those darn adverts try to brainwash me into thinking pink knickers and bras are the most gorgeous thing in the world. I told you that I was miserable...

Misery and my pathetic past aside, I decided to make this dish for Valentine's this year because of two reasons.
1. I wanted to surprise my husband with an out of the box Valentine's gift.
2. I lied. Truth is I am dead broke and couldn't afford to purchase a gift because I blew my monthly budget and more on makeup. Blame Target Canada liquidation sale.

Now I know risotto is not the easiest dish to make, I've seen Gordon Ramsey shredding professional chefs into pieces when they failed making this dish but...I think mine is okay? All jokes aside, I'm not sure if I'm brave or just stupid with a death wish but risotto is one of my top favourite dishes to make.

Again, just to save my ass, this is NOT authentic, I am NOT claiming this is the correct way to cook risotto but...this is my simple version of it. I hope you'll try it and all constructive criticism is welcome.

My Journey Into The Nudes

You may wish I am here to share with you my journey into a nudist colony alas, that will never happen. Make that never ever will happen. I can't bear looking at myself stark naked so the thought of seeing strangers swinging their goods in my face is not quite my cup of tea.

Now that you have erased the image of me in my birthday suit, let's get to the correct topic of the day. Today I'll be sharing with you my journey in discovering nude lipsticks.

Up to 6 months ago, if anyone would have told me that I will one day fall madly in love with nude lipstick shades, I will tell say you're out of your mind. Batshit crazy out of your mind. Nude shades and me has never got along as I will end up looking like an extra from The Walking Dead.

And then a little makeup miracle happened...I picked up Essence Barely There! (06) and Natural Beauty (07).
