What I've Been Loving in March

March, can you believe we're already in March? How time has flown. I swear by the time you hit the big 3-0, time is no longer on your side. Tick tock, tick tock and with the next blink of an eye, you have a full head of grey hair, wrinkles right down your neck, a pair of knockers sagged down to your knees and you're blowing out 70 candles on your birthday cake.

It's a bloody beautiful life indeed...

I missed both January and February favourites, tsk! tsk! I'm such a naughty blogger. So today's post is all about what I have been loving in the month of March. It's slightly different though, it's a mixture of all sorts of stuff and not purely beauty products.

REVIEW: OZ Natural Super Youth Eye Gel

I know recently there are tons of reviews on this eye gel floating around in the blogsphere. They are everywhere, blooming like those darn mushrooms after the rain.

So what makes my review any different? How will my thoughts differ from all the other reviews?

Well, you'll be reading about the epic battle between this cruelty free, vegan formula, 100% natural & 75% organic eye gel vs the dehydrated, wrinkled and fine line filled eye areas of a 36 year old who survives on 4-5 hours sleep every day.

REVIEW: Annabelle SKINTRUE Natural Lightweight Makeup (Medium Beige)

As bad as I am with my lipstick hoarding (I.want.them.all), I am the same when it comes to foundations. I want, need, MUST HAVE every single sheer to medium coverage, dewy finish base that is available in the market. I do stay far away from matte and full coverage as I personally feel it makes my face look cakey and plastic.

Thanks to Target liquidation sale, I managed to dive head first to a newly discovered (for me!) Canadian brand, Annabelle. One of the products (I picked up quite a few) that I bought was Annabelle SKINTRUE Natural Lightweight Makeup.

There was no tester available so I took a chance in picking up the shade Medium Beige as that is normally my shade and thank goodness, it perfectly matched my skin tone.

How I Clean My Makeup Brushes

I have a confession, oh yes sirrrr! I am so full of confessions that it would make a priest's head spin into the abyss.

I am absolutely horrid at washing my makeup brushes. It's not that I forget to do it, it's just pure laziness. I find the task to be boring, time consuming, bla bla bla..well, you get the drift. And I usually will come up with countless excuses to put it off. It's quite embarrassing.

During my recent makeup purge (it was a heart breaking goodbye), I found my small hair bun donut hidden under a mountain of lipstick. Don't ask me how it got there, I would blame the move from Malaysia to Canada for it. Or the Christmas elves, you never know with them.

For some reason, I thought it would be a good idea to wash my brushes against it. Well, why not right? It's a rough plastic wire-y surface that seemed perfect for me to twirl my brushes and then rinse it out. And I did exactly that.

REVIEW: Dr. Hauschka Revitalising Day Cream

Winter and dry skin are a match made in hell, I could almost swear that it is. I had little problems with my dry skin back when I was living in Malaysia. The humidity sort of balanced out the dryness from the scorching hot sun but nothing prepared me for this nasty little bugger name winter.

One fine day I quipped to my husband, "Hey, guess what..." and before I could finished my sentence, he asked "Is it going to cost me money...?" and I was tempted to box his ears there and then. Anyhoot, I proceed to tell him that I desperately need a day cream. I have a few night creams, there were five the last time I counted but only one, maybe two day creams and I needed something that packs a powerful hydration punch to my skin.

And that is how Dr. Hauschka Revitalising Day Cream found its way into my life.

REVIEW: Essence I LOVE Stage Eyeshadow Base

I know this product has been on the market for a darn long time and I am only reviewing it now. As always, I am only few years behind the game. I'm such a terrible beauty blogger...

Essence has continued to dominate my daily makeup stash and this was another item that I received from Amy in my first beauty swap (read here). Recently I have been applying eyeshadow every day because
1. I have so many palettes in my collection.
2. I'm practising my eyeshadows technique.
3. Hubby is starting to frown on my eyeshadow palette collection.

Actually just skip to reason no. 3....

Over the years, I have been very faithful to Urban Decay eyeshadow primer and have never strayed away from it. But after the non stop success I had with Essence products, I knew I just had to 'cheat' on my UD eyeshadow primer.

This has to be one of the hardest and most important posts that I have written in a long time. I am torn between writing this post or not but the matter has been on my mind since last Monday and I just have to let it out and be honest about it.

As many of you know, I recently cut my hair short, well make that very short. I love my new hair so much that I even took a damn selfie (cringe!) after the cut and shared it on Instagram, Twitter and even wrote a small note about the hair cut on my Monday post.

Many of you left me amazing comments about me donating my hair to charity, I love all your comments, always have and always will but I need to clarify one matter.

I did NOT cut my hair with the intention of donating it...I was merely bored of it.

I had long hair since forever, ever since I finished high school to be exact and that means almost 19 years. And I was bored of it and have been itching for a change since last year. I wanted to streak my hair either blue or purple (I kid you not) but hubby had a 'I'm about to have a heart attack' look of pain on his face every time I mentioned it so my hair remained long and boring.

I made my hair appointment with a very simple, personal reason; I wanted a fresh new do. That was it. There was nothing wonderful or noble in it.

But upon sitting down in Level 10 Eurospa and telling my hairdresser, Yvonne (she's absolutely brilliant!) about what I wanted to do, she mentioned about the possibility of donating my hair. My first reaction was huh? is there really such a thing? I've been cutting my hair in many salons over the years and this was the first time I heard about it. Yvonne talked me through it, she patiently explained the whole matter to me....
