YAY OR NAY? LET'S TALK ABOUT THE NEW AVON X THEFACESHOP ROUGE POWDER MATTE LIPSTICKS

How many of us took self-isolation time to do some personal reflection on life? I did and frankly, this past 6 weeks was a journey of self-discovery. I found joy in the smallest little things, like my little one's laughter, the way my husband seems to understand me without words, how baking is actually not bad (cooking still wins though) and how I actually need very little in life.

I also did a major decluttering; getting rid of makeup that I held on because I 'will use it again one day, maybe I can make it work', etc and finally, getting rid of anything that is mediocre. 'Quality over quantity' and that brings me to today's post.

I recently received the new Avon x THEFACESHOP Rouge Powder Matte Lipsticks (CA$22.00 currently on sale for CA$19.00) and these are just fabulous! There are 6 very wearable shades ranging from nude, pink and red so there is something for everyone. I was sent 3 lipsticks in the shades Rose Powder*, Beige Powder* and finally, you guys know I love a good red lip, my favourite of the three, Berry Powder*.

I don't think you need both Rose and Beige Powder as they look really similar on my lips with the latter having a slight peachy undertone while the other leans pinker. And I have no idea how they came up with the name Berry Powder* as it is straight-up firey red on me.

When I first saw these, I instantly thought of Mac Powder Kiss Lipsticks which I personally haven't tried (and frankly won't be buying) but the name implies the similar soft-focus, blurring effect matte finish on the lips.

The texture of these lipsticks is unique and it's nothing like I have ever tried before. It applies smoothly on the lips without tugging and feels really creamy upon application. I wasn't sure what to expect but the finish actually surprised me; it truly gives a soft-focus finish to the lips. If you are a fan of Korean gradient lips trend then this will be your best friend as you get the same finish without applying concealer all over your lips.

These are not the most long-wearing lipsticks, I get 5-6 hours with drinking and light snacking but they disappear after a full meal. That said, they wear comfortably throughout and my lips don't feel dry at the end of the day.

If you can't tell, I am a huge fan of these! I love how I am able to build up the pigmentation, how comfortable they are on the lips and how unique the finish is. Highly recommended!
