THE TALES ABOUT CONCEALER: THE GOOD & THE VERY BAD

Can I just say, the longer I am staying home, the lazier I become with wearing makeup? I am now at the point where I am not even arsed with mascara and I always wear mascara...every.single.day for the past couple of decades.

I swear by the end of this all, I will emerge looking like a cavewoman.

Anyhoot, as lazy as I've become, I still diligently use a concealer or two to make myself look more human. While I have waved goodbye to mascara, I have fully embraced concealers and today I am sharing my thoughts on 4 concealers in my rotation.

I wasn't expecting much from the new Avon Cashmere Concealer but wow, hands down one of the best concealers that I have tried in the recent years. The texture is super lightweight and almost watery and a little goes a long way. Just a small dab gives solid medium coverage and it spreads out easily on the skin so I highly suggest using little each time and slowly builds up to your desired coverage. It gives the most beautiful, smooth almost filter-like finish while masking my fine lines. I have the shade Cashmere* which is a neutral light shade that helps to brighten up my eye areas.

VERDICT: 110% recommends this! It retails for CA$25.00/6mL (now on sale for CA$18.99) and there are 12 shades available.

The first time I saw theSaem Cover Perfection Tip Concealer was on a YouTube comment section. I believe it was KathleenLights video where she was trying a kbeauty products and so many of her followers recommended this concealer so I had to give it a try. I bought mine through Amazon and it was only CA$10.00. Mine is in the shade 02 Rich Beige and it's the perfect shade for my skin tone.

This is the most long-lasting concealer that I have ever used! I used it as a spot concealer and the coverage was going strong after 13 hours. I'm not joking when I said this does not budge. The texture is lightweight, gives full coverage and a skin-like finish.

VERDICT: If you are looking for a long-lasting full coverage concealer then I highly recommend this.

Catrice Camouflage Concealers is definitely not new to the market but it is to me and all I can say is, the hype is real. It has quite the fan base and many swears by it to be one of the best concealers in the market. Just like the other two, the texture is light almost watery and gives solid medium coverage and easily buildable to full. It has a soft perfume scent to it which reminds me of Chanel and YSL and while I love it, be warned if you are scent sensitive.

I received the shade 015 Honey*, 018 Light Biscuit* and 020 Light Beige* and to be honest, the only difference I noticed was Honey* is neutral, Light Biscuit* is rosy and Light Beige* is yellow tone.

What makes it different and unique from all the other concealers that I have ever tried is the way it sets on the skin. I highly suggest using it one area at a time as it dries down quickly and once it does, it doesn't budge. It truly is waterproof, trust me...it actually lasted through a good cry. My mascara was all over my face but my concealer was still looking pretty damn good.

VERDICT: If you are looking for a high coverage waterproof concealer with a finish that looks like skin then give this a go. I see myself reaching only for this during Summer when I spend most of my time outdoors. These retail for CA$7.99/5mL each and there 17 shades to choose from which is massive especially for a drugstore brand.

This time I decided to save the shittiest concealer I have for last...meet the bane of my makeup life, Estee Lauder Double Wear Radiant Concealer. This is shit, the end.

Okay, I wish I can end my review that way but that wouldn't make me a good blogger now would it?

Let's start with the first thing that truly irked me, the mega huge wand. Like why? Unlike the previous 3 concealers, this has a fat wand that picks up way too much product which leads to wastage. The texture is thickest I have ever seen for concealer and the finish is...how shall I say this...an absolute wank. It's dry, cakey, highlights every single pore and texture and I kid you not, it actually makes my skin looks older, almost crepey. As I said, it's an absolute wank.

Is there anything good about this? Yea, the shade 2N is a great match for me, that's it.

VERDICT: A wank, no, just no. This is basically paying CA$36.00/10mL for a horror show.

Have you tried any of these concealers? What is your favourite concealer at the moment?

*Gifted but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.
