THE SKINCARE EDITION: [Klairs] Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask

If you recently noticed the surge of Asian beauty products on my Instagram feed and on here then be aware that it is a sign of things to come. Just like I had some sort of beauty awakening in 2013 and high end/luxury brand discoveries earlier this year...I have a newfound obsession with Asian skincare.

WishTrend needs no introduction to most of us but if you are not familiar with them (like where the heck have you been all this while?) then a brief intro; they are one of the biggest Korean online beauty stores where you can find some of the best, on-trend Korean brands and beauty products. They also have their own in-house products which by the way, I highly recommend checking out.

I was one of the lucky peeps who was offered the opportunity to trial [Klairs] Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask* which is launching on Friday, September 22nd. I have been testing this mask for over two weeks and let's see how I got along with it.

This mask has one of the most drool-worthy ingredient lists that I have ever seen and unlike many other brands, the star ingredients are actually on top of the list. Tocopherol Acetate (Vitamin E) and Niacinamide (Vitamin B3) are the 4th and 5th ingredients on the list and this is followed by Sodium Hyaluronate, a water-soluble salt form of hyaluronic acid that has smaller molecules which allows better penetration and less likelihood of oxidization. And then you get Betaine which is an amino acid, ceramide, Arginine (amino acid, antioxidant) and lots of good ol' botanical extracts.

The texture is special by itself as it looks, feels and acts like a pudding and WishTrend describes it as Shape Memory Cream. I would say it's more of a coagulated gel than cream and it retains its form after usage. This means right after I scoop out the product, the surface will be good as new after a few minutes. This mask also has a scent to it but very soft, pleasant and fresh.

Be warned that you don't need much with this mask and if you apply too much then your skin will feel really tacky for a minute or so. I use about half a teaspoon each time and it absorbs quickly without leaving any tackiness or residue.

Amazing ingredient list aside, what about the result? There is no point of having an amazing ingredient list if the skin starts shrivelling up like it's going through an exorcism.

Well, this little pot filled with goodness definitely delivers the promised radiance and more. While the name stated mask, if you read the instructions (which I honestly should do more...), this can also be used as a moisturizer which honestly is my favourite way to use.

And oh boy, I have tested this mask multiple ways.

I first used it as an overnight mask for 4 days in a row and I woke up to soft, plump skin every morning. Next, I tested it as my day moisturizer especially after my Vitamin C serum and at night, after my Retinol serum or used in conjunction with WishTrend Mandelic Acid 5% Skin Prep Water* (reviewed here) and I freaking love it even more. I was sceptical that it would be hydrating enough for my dry-normal and ahem! older skin but it definitely proved me wrong.

My skin felt hydrated throughout wear time and at the end of the day when I removed my makeup, I noticed my skin glowed. It's also beautiful under sunscreen and makeup and doesn't pill even when I mix 2 drops of facial oil into it.

In short? YOU.NEED.THIS.

My skin has been looking so much better, smoother, plumper and most of all, radiant. I find my spots are also fading faster when combined with my Vitamin C serum with this moisturizer. A few customers actually commented that my skin looks perfect which is the biggest compliment of all.

Is there a negative to this mask? Only if you are allergic or sensitive to botanical extracts so if you are then please pay attention to the ingredient list or use a very small amount on the side of your face to see if it triggers a reaction.

I highly recommend this not-so-little 90mL pot of goodness and it's fast becoming one of my must-have skincare product!

[Klairs] Freshly Juiced Vitamin E Mask is currently on sale for US$21.60 (normal price US$27.00) and available for purchase on WishTrend.com.
