THE WISHTREND BRIGHT & GLOWY SKIN EDIT

The older I get, the more I noticed how my skin gets lackluster whenever I slacked off in my skincare routine. Thankfully, this is a rare occasion but I do have my lazy days which sometimes dragged into a week. That plus the lack of sleep or if I pigged out on too much junk food (no, such thing as too much junk food for me)...well, my skin let me know how unhappy it has become.

I have been a long time fan of WishTrend and a month or so ago, they revamped their website to provide a better user experience. They also upgraded their point system and I spoke more in-depth about it on my IG page which you can read about here.

I received a few products from them to test and if you are following me on Instagram (shameless plugging...) then you know I have nothing but love for them.

The search for a good brightening toner/essence doesn't come easy for me mainly because my skin is not problematic and is usually very clear so it takes a very special and outstanding product to make a difference. You can say I am officially obsessed with I'm From Rice Toner (US$28.00/150mL)* because not only it brightens and nourishes the skin, it also hydrates really well.

Rice extract, Methylpropanediol, Triethylhexanoin, Hydrogenated poly (C6-14 olefin), Niacinamide, Pentylene glycol, Common Purslane extract, Rice bran extract, Japanese elm bark extract, Amaranthus caudatus seed extract, Hydrogenated lecithin, Distilled water, Polyglyceryl-10-myristate, Butylene glycol, Adenosine, Cellulose gum, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1,2-Hexanediol

It's made with 77.78% rice extract which is known for it's nourishing and brightening properties and also contains Niacinamide, lots of humectants and plant extracts. The watery texture absorbs within seconds without leaving any tackiness and my skin feels instantly soft and hydrated. The product is also scentless which makes it perfect for anyone who is sensitive to fragrance.

Verdict: I have been using this twice a day for almost 3 weeks and my skin is brighter, softer and noticeably plump. 100% will be repurchasing.

Klairs makes some of my all-time favourite skincare products so there is no surprise that it was love at first use with the new Fundamental Watery Oil Drop (US$31.00/50mL)*. Please don't let the word oil scares you because this is what I would describe as a scentless, watery serum that absorbs quickly leaving no greasiness or residue on the skin.

Aqua(Water), Glycerin, Butylene Glycol, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Water, Oryza Sativa (Rice) Extract, Bifida Ferment Extract, Betaine, Dipropylene Glycol, Sorbitol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Aspergillus/Rice Ferment Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Dipotassium Glycyrrhizate, Sorbitan Sesquioleate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Sodium Hyaluronate, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Xanthan Gum, Arginine, Carbomer, Tocopheryl Acetate, Acrylates/C10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Laminaria Japonica Extract, Ceramide NP, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Copper Tripeptide-1, Acetyl Hexapeptide-8

This serum is rich in antioxidants to fight free radicals and peptides to repair and nourish the skin and I highly recommend it for all skin types especially dehydrated ones. I use 2-3 drops twice a day over my serum and under my moisturizer and my skin is soft, supple and bright.

Verdict: Highly recommended as I have never tried anything quite like it. It leans more water than oil, hydrates without any greasiness or heaviness and my skin just drinks it up.

Now to the most interesting product of the bunch, the newly launched WishTrend Acid-Duo Hibiscus 63 Cream (US$22.00/50mL)*. I was so excited to try this product mainly because hibiscus (called Bunga Raya in Malay which is the national language of Malaysia) is the national flower of Malaysia so in some ways, this is a little touch of home for me.

Hibiscus Sabdariffa Flower Extract, Butylene Glycol, Water, Glycerin, Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, 1,2-Hexanediol, Cetyl Alcohol, Gluconolactone, Capryloyl Salicylic Acid, Xanthan Gum, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Ethylhexyl Palmitate, Hydroxyacetophenone, Carbomer, Ammonium Acryloyldimethyltaurate/VP Copolymer, Potassium Hydroxide, Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer, Dimethicone, Cyanocobalamin

The first ingredient in this lightweight gel-cream moisturizer is 63% Hibiscus Flower extract which is rich in antioxidants, Vitamin C and is a natural source of AHAs. It provides a gentler source of AHAs making it suitable for anyone who has sensitive skin or allergic to other AHAs. The cream also contains LHA (beta-lipohydroxy acid), a derivative of Salicylic Acid which works similarly but gentler to the skin.

Despite the lightweight texture, a little goes a very long way and it will take a couple of minutes for it to completely sink in if you use too much (speaking from experience). It does have a scent to it but the only word that comes into my mind to describe it is, clinical. It's not offensive and it dissipates after a few seconds. I have been using this mostly in the evenings and I always wake up to fresher, more supple and brighter skin.

Verdict: I recommend this moisturizer to everyone especially if you are sensitive to most exfoliating products. It's gentle and yet, very effective. You really can't go wrong with it.

I'm extremely pleased to discover these products. My skin has been behaving so well which surprises me as the change in season and weather usually means breakouts and lots of them. It's safe to say, all three products will be repurchased in the future.
