MONTHLY FAVOURITES: What Have Been Knocking My Boots In April and a GIVEAWAY (CLOSED)

Here we are so close to the middle of May and I am finally posting about April's favourites. Can we just take a moment and celebrate my lack of organization skills?

Now that we have that out of the way, let's talk about the good and a tiny weeny hiccup, okay a couple of hiccups that happened in the House of Platt in the month of April. Also, I have a giveaway of two products that I have been so excited about at the end of this post.

Just to change things up a little, I'll be sharing about the non beauty favourites first but if you rather read strictly only beauty products in the future then please let me know in the comment section.

AND HE TURNED TWO...
Little Tyke is not so little anymore and we celebrated his birthday end of April. The first hiccup was me messing up his birthday cupcakes but the good news was, everyone enjoyed the rest of the food and nobody missed the cupcakes.

Not only is he starting to pronounce more words, he's also more than ready to screech his dissatisfaction towards us. Ohh, and he's taller and climbing and reaching for all the things that he was not supposed to aka mummy's makeup. And when I tell him no, he's more than happy to repeat a big fat 'noooo' to me too. I love him to bits but there are days I need the patience of the Dalai Lama.

The next big thing that happened in April was...I finally passed my driving test! Yippee! It only took me two tries...and yes, that's my second hiccup. I did everything well in my first test except I was speeding happily through a school zone. Luckily I managed to get it right the second time so now I can officially drive without a chauffeur aka hubby dearest. I can finally go shopping in peace and take my own sweet ass time. HAHA!

WHAT THE HOUSE OF PLATT IS WATCHING

I love anything science fiction in general, let it be books or movies/shows so when I saw the trailer for Hunters, I bugged my husband non-stop to start taping it. Verdict? I've only watched two episodes so far, there are two or three episodes taped and so far, I am on the fence about it. The show feels like a cluster f*ck, it's here, there and bloody everywhere and it feels like they are cramming as much as possible into each episode. I'll update in my next favourites post if I'm still watching it.

I know the reviews have not been that great for this show but OMG, this show is funny as heck! Frankly, I wasn't the biggest fan of the movies because Chris Tucker annoyed the crap out of me but I'm really loving this show.

Have any of you watched Hunters or Rush Hour? What are your thoughts?

BEAUTY
beauty, favourites, skincare, natural skincare, highlighter, primer, moisturizer, eye cream, eyeshadow primer, eyeshadow palette, anti-aging, anti-cellulite

It won't be any surprise to see a bunch of familiar products listed as April's favourites. I honestly have been obsessed with these products and while I keep telling myself it's time to show some love to my other products, it's so hard to put these away.

Tell me honestly, is anyone surprised that Here & Now Botanicals Toner* (reviewed here), Bella Aura Gentle Purifying Cleanser* and Instant Lifting Eye Contour* (reviewed here) and Sleek i-Divide Eyeshadow Palettes* (reviewed here) made it into this month's favourite? I won't be explaining much as I've already written full reviews on them but I have been using them almost everyday with no signs of stopping anytime soon.

Becca Backlight Primer Filter and Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer are some of the latest additions through a Sephora sale and I've been using either one everyday. I won't be going on too much about both as I am planning to write a full post for each in the next few weeks but they are amazing and worth every single penny. It took me some time to find the right amount to apply Becca Backlight Primer Filter without looking like a sparkly disco ball but once I got it right, it's beyond stunning. Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer took me by surprise as I expected to hate it. It didn't make my face look matte and flat instead it smoothed over my pores giving a lovely base and my skin looked radiant and healthy with it.

I am still obsessed with highlighters and Physician Formula Shimmer Strip in shade Miami Strip is one of the latest addition into my stash. I bought it after watching Kathleen Lights raving about it and have been using it almost everyday since purchase. It's a gorgeous highlighter and gives the most beautiful glow on my skin. Initially I was a little apprehensive about it as when I ran my fingers through the surface, it felt hard instead of buttery smooth but thankfully that didn't translate to chalkiness and lack of pigmentation. The staying power is also amazing as it lasted on me from early morning around 8am to the evening 7pm without any fading.
