REVIEW: Born Pretty Store 18 Color Shimmer Eyeshadow Makeup Palette

Born Pretty Store is no stranger in the beauty blogging community. This well known Singapore online beauty site sells both beauty and nail products and has been a huge favourite by many beauty bloggers.

I have always been apprehensive about purchasing beauty products online and long time readers are well aware how anal I am on this fact. Call me old school but I love testing and swatching products before making up my mind.

So I had zero expectations when 18 Color Shimmer Eyeshadow Makeup Palette* landed on my doorstep. How can a no brand makeup be any good, right? Well, sometimes the no brand can surprise you or in this case me.

Let's talk about packaging, it's not impressive. The plastic palette is flimsy, thin, looks and feels cheaply made. When I first opened the palette, I was taken a back by the strong plastic chemical smell. I was worried that the smell was from the eyeshadows however, it was from the palette and it did disappear after a couple of days.

Now let's talk to the most important part...the quality. Swatches below are WITHOUT primer.

These eyeshadows are very pigmented and it lasted all day without fading or creasing. They are easy to blend and have very minimal fall out so I have no problem applying them after completing my base.

The one thing that I have to point out is the best way to apply these eyeshadows are with fingers and not brushes. For some reason using makeup brushes resulted in extremely poor application, the eyeshadows will not transfer or stick to the lid. I will apply with my fingers and later blend with brushes.

This palette is one of the most intense eyeshadow palettes that I own and that says a lot because I have tons of palettes from both high end and drugstore. I have been using this almost everyday since receiving it, it is such a versatile palette with a huge variety of shades to use. I do wish there are some matte shades included but frankly, it's no biggie.

Is there a huge negative about the Born Pretty Store or the palette? Well, yes, I wish the shipping was faster as it took a month for the package to arrive. On the palette itself? Nope, I can't think of any negatives unless you hate applying eyeshadows with your fingers.

I highly recommend 18 Color Shimmer Eyeshadow Makeup Palette* which is currently on sale for $14.96 (original price $21.37). You just have to be patient with the shipping and I promise this palette is worth your time and money.
