Get Ready with Me with Avon/Mark.

I know 'Get Ready with Me' posts are usually done in a video form but I thought, why not do something a little different and take a break from the usual review posts? I've already taken a major leap out of my comfort zone and posted my first Instagram story on Saturday so let's keep the ball rolling.

I will be showcasing a few new releases from Avon/marks. (click here) which I recently received and guys, what happened to Avon? When did the brand became trendy? Back when I was living in Malaysia, Avon was pretty much known as a mediocre, lower end brand and their products were nothing to rave about but these new releases that I am testing are pretty damn impressive.

My Sundays are usually spent cleaning the house and then dinner with my in-laws, frankly it's nothing very exciting but I still take the time to doll up so to speak whenever I leave the house. It's something that my mum has instilled in me since I was a child; a woman must never look like a slob especially when they leave the house. Now I know it's a very old school way of thought but there's nothing wrong with looking presentable. So hopefully you lovelies will enjoy this post and I don't bore any of you to snooze land.

MORNING SKINCARE
Morning skincare steps: left to right

MOTD (MAKE UP OF THE DAY)

These have been my go to base products for the past month. I use Hourglass Mineral Veil primer  (reviewed here) only on the centre of my face, a small drop of Bobbi Brown Serum Foundation (reviewed here) which I dot on the centre of my face and then blend out. Milani Eyeshadow primer has been my go to, I'm not the biggest fan of it but I'm trying to finish it and then will purchase another to try. If you have a favourite drugstore eyeshadow primer then please let me know in the comments below!

I never do crazy contouring or use concealer to highlight my face, a style which has been used by drag artists for ages and which also seems to be the biggest trend on Instagram and Youtube instead, I only dot a touch of concealer under my eyes and on my spots and blend it into the skin. My favourite concealer at the moment is Maybelline FitMe which I have repurchased a couple of times. Funny story, I hated FitMe concealer for ages as I found it to be very cakey but when my skin changed last year, it became my new best friend and suits me better than Instant Age Rewind

Finally, I set my under eye concealer and my nose areas with City Color HD Powder. I mentioned this as a great option for Kathleen Lights's July favourite RMS Beauty 'Un' Powder on my Instagram (here). This is also 100% silica just like the RMS powder but retailing for only $5.99 in comparison to RMS which retails for $34.00.

Left: bare skin, Right: I don't know wtf I was thinking...

highlighter, glow, face powder

The real star of my look is this gorgeous mark. Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Bars* (click here). When I first received this, I was a little underwhelmed as it looks too dark for a highlight but looks can be deceiving. These bars are a mixture of rose gold, gold and bronzy shades and it has a hybrid of cream & powder texture. I use my fingers if I want intensity but my favourite way is using a brush for a soft focus glow. Am I the only one who is tired of the highlighter can be seen from space trend? I have been loving very subtle, natural looking sheen that gives the impression of a healthy, radiant skin.

For this look, I used mark. Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Bars* (click here) on my lids, at the high point of my cheeks and finally with a light dusting of it all over my face with my newest love, Wayne Goss Fan Brush.

I finish the final touches on my face with Make Up For Ever Brow Pencil* and Essence Make Me Brow on my brows, ColorPop eyeliner in shade Swerve for a thin winged liner, Maybelline The Falsies mascara on the lashes, Physician Formula Bronze Booster on my crease and the sides of my face, Wet n Wild ColorIcon blush in shade Mellow Wine and finally Flower Beauty lipstick in shade Rosey Garden.

See how radiant Mark Touch & Glow Shimmer Cream Bars* made my skin looks!

OOTD (OUTFIT OF THE DAY)

jewelry, perfume, avon, mark.

First up, Avon collaborated with Sofia Vergara and created So Very Sofia* which combines notes of the national flower of Columbia, Flor de Maya Orchid and passion fruit. As soon as I spritzed the perfume, I instantly recognized the scent. So Very Sofia* smells exactly like Bon Bon by Victor & Rolf! So if you love Bon Bon by Victor & Rolf but unwilling to spend $$$ for it then So Very Sofia* is a great dupe for it.

I don't think I can rave enough about the jewelry; mark. Golden Dynasty earrings* (click here) are gorgeous and lend a sophisticated touch to any outfit and the best part is they are light so they don't hurt my ears. mark. Perfect Harmony necklace* (click here) is by far my favourite piece of jewelry this month and I even wore it to my wedding anniversary dinner with hubby.

Yes, that's a f*cking Pokemon and Mr. Platt was catching one while I was reading the menu. I looked up and asking wtf was he doing so he uploaded the picture onto Facebook and then showed me. I should have boxed his ears...

I hope you enjoy this little 'out of the box' Get Ready with Me post and do share how you spend your Sundays. Do you doll up or just stay in for a relaxing time to yourself?

*Products marked with * were received for free but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.
