FASHION FRIDAY: #WeLoveRain with Helly Hansen

Canada is notoriously known for extreme temperatures and when my family and friends first found out that I would be migrating over, they all wondered how would a girl from a tropical country survive the negative Celsius? But Mr. Plat was kind, smart and probably didn't want his new wife to sneak off and fly back home in the middle of the night so we moved to a place where the temperatures are the mildest.

There was no snow the first year I was here and last year it snowed twice with each time the snow staying on the ground for merely two days. While many might think, wow, I must be extremely lucky well, yes and no because the lack of snow is made up with tons of rain.

And when it rains, it rains for days and sometimes weeks. While the rain is nothing in comparison to Malaysia's monsoon rain, it still dampens the fashion front. It's hard to look good when it rains on your parade. Oh yes, I went there...

Or so I thought until I was introduced to Helly Hansen.

ABOUT HELLY HANSEN:
"Helly Hansen was founded in Moss, Norway, in 1877 and their apparels are developed through a blend of Scandinavian design and insights drawn from living in some of the harshest environments on earth.

The company has an impressive background as it invented the first supple, waterproof fabrics more than 130 years ago, created the first fleece fabrics in the 1961, introduced the first technical baselayers made with LIFA® Stay Dry Technology in the 1970s and finally, the Helly Tech technology was launched in 1980, using both hydrophilic and microporous technology, which meant the apparel was both waterproof and breathable."

I think my search for the perfect trench coat has finally ended. Not only does Helly Hansen trench coat keep me dry, it's also light, comfortable and looks damn good on me. And I can safely say I much prefer Helly Hansen rain boots than my pair of Hunters. It's much lighter, comfortable, doesn't hurt my feet and how can I say no to that gorgeous floral print? I blame you Gemma (say hello to her here).
