BRAND SPOTLIGHT: NeoStrata

A couple of weeks ago, hubby and I were reminiscing about our high school days and while he was pretty nonchalant about his, I wasn't so thrilled to walk down that memory lane. No, I wasn't bullied or anything of that sort but I was that weird girl that never quite belonged anywhere. There were four of us good friends throughout high school and while the other three were smart, funny, beautiful, and confident, I on the other hand was not as smart, athletic, tomboyish with hair and clothes dictated by my mum. I was the odd one out and the one that not many people talked about and if they did, it was never about anything good.

And that's how I feel about NeoStrata. We kept hearing and reading about Vichy, La Roche-Posay but almost never about NeoStrata. It's like the odd one out that no one wanted to know and talk about.

So today I'm taking you with me on my journey to get to know this brilliant brand and yes, it's love at first use.

I am already a huge fan of NeoStrata Skin Renewal Peel Solution which I swear to be one of the main reasons why I don't suffer from uneven skin tone. It's one of the most rancid smelling products that you will ever come across but it works and it works beautifully on my skin.

You can imagine my excitement when a package containing NeoStrata Anti-Aging Gel with Fruit Stem Cells*, Anti-Aging Serum Fruit & Peptide Stem Cells*Anti-Wrinkle Lip Enhancer* and FirmaLift Eye Contour Firming Cream* arrived on my doorstep. I will be reviewing FirmaLift Eye Contour Firming Cream* on a later date because I am testing another eye cream but for today, let's talk about the other three amazing products.
Neostrata

The Anti-Aging Gel with Fruit Stem Cells* is formulated with a breakthrough award-winning, anti-aging technology with excellent regenerative power, PhytoCellTec™.

The jar packaging might be inconvenient for some but I don't mind it as much because I used a spatula to avoid contamination. A light weight, fast absorbing gel which almost instantly leaves my skin looking refreshed and rejuvenated. It has a fruity scent to it but it doesn't linger and dissipates within a minute or less after application.

I usually hate applying sunblock because it gets too much with moisturizer and my skin ends up feeling all sorts of ickiness (yes, I'm 5 years old at heart and still uses the word 'ickiness') but I never have that problem with this moisturizer. Initially I thought its lightness meant it was not moisturizing enough for my dry skin but on the contrary, it left my skin looking fresh, bouncy, hydrated and best of all, radiant!

Best way to describe this moisturizer? It's a jar of juicy, fruity goodness for your skin!

Neostrata

The Anti-Aging Serum Fruit & Peptide Stem Cells* is formulated with two new cutting-edge technologies with the regenerative power to enable skin stem cells to thrive and flourish again: PhytoCellTec™ and Survixyl IS ™ These stem cell technologies are combined with powerful peptides that are proven to reverse the signs of aging. This light serum contains the highest concentration of stem cell on the market and deeply penetrates the skin while moisturizing.

I adore the sleek bottle that the serum is housed in and I'm glad that it comes with a pump so it's easy for me to control the amount I need and for hygiene purposes. One pump is enough for my face and neck so this 30mL bottle will last me for at least 3 months. Just like the moisturizer, this clear gel serum has a lightweight almost runny texture and it absorbs quickly into the skin. Unlike the moisturizer, I didn't noticed any scent to it so it's a huge bonus for anyone who is sensitive to fragrance.

I have to admit that initially I wasn't impressed by this serum and was convinced it was a bust however after three weeks of using it twice a day, I noticed my skin looks very clear, radiant and the fine lines around my face are so much softer. It's like the serum slowed down the formation of my lines.

Neostrata

Our lips are one of the most obvious tell-tale features that show our age. They thin, lose definition and fine lines will start appearing as we age and this lip treatment is created to counter all that. This lip treatment is also made to moisturize, increase lip volume and enhance our natural lip colour.

The little tube comes with a doe foot applicator just like an ordinary lip gloss. The texture is also similar to a lip gloss but not as gloppy and sticky. There is a slight menthol, minty scent and taste to it but it disappears after a couple of minutes.

This is the one and only product that I have tried so far that managed to keep my lips moisturized almost the whole day. I apply this in the morning around 8.00am, have breakfast and lunch with lots of snacking in between and I will only feel the need to reapply around 5.00pm. And I usually reapply lip balm every couple of hours because my lips are very dry. On top of that, it really did enhance my natural lip colour! My lips are naturally very pale, it's so pale to the point it's whitish/greyish but after using this for more than a month, you can see how pink my natural lips are below. I can't comment if it enhanced my lip volume because it's not a problem that I have...for now.

While I am in love with this lip treatment, there is one downside that comes with it; it stings the lips like a b*tch. It felt like my lips are burning and a thousand needles are poking at it. The sting did go away after a few seconds but be forewarned that you best brace yourself for the pain. I got used to it after a week but oh boy, I almost gave up on it.

Clear, plump, radiant skin and natural pink lips!

I have a new found love and respect for NeoStrata because it's very rare that I would fall so madly in love with every product from one range but there's no denying how much my skin is loving these products. NeoStrata will always have a permanent place in my skincare routine.

Have you tried anything from NeoStrata before?

*I received this product for free but my thoughts and opinions are 100% unbiased, honest and my own. There is no place for any sort of BS here.

Over the weekend:
Things have been a little crazy in The House of Platt so I do apologize if my presence in the blogsphere hasn't been as active as before. We are preparing for our trip back to Malaysia at the end of this month and on top of that, we are also house hunting so yea, fun time. Little Tyke is also back to school so I'm pretty much drowning in real life activities.

To all the super mums out there, how do you do it?! Please share your tips and tricks!
