Let's Go Back to Basic ~ White Bread Recipe (with Bread Maker)

Sometimes we crave for a simple meal such as a sandwich and this happens pretty often with hubby dearest. While he loves me experimenting and creating recipes in the kitchen, every now and then, he wishes I would go back to basics and bake a simple, good ol' white bread.

Back in Malaysia, we used to buy bread but we somehow never managed to finish it because I was never a fan of store bought bread. There's just something about it that makes me feel bleh! However, that has all now changed ever since I have my own bread maker. There is something about freshly baked homemade bread that gets me hungry instantly. Just the whiff of it is enough to make me want a warm slice of bread slathered with salted butter.

So today I'm sharing a simple white bread recipe which is always a huge hit in the family. This is not my original recipe but was kindly given to me by Kevin's aunt who is an excellent cook.

Shall we bake?

Ingredients:
1 egg + water to equal 1 1/2 cup
1 1/4 tsp instant yeast
3 tbs olive oil
2 tbs white sugar
1 1/2 tsp sea salt
4 cups all purpose flour

Baking method:
1. Put everything into the bread maker.
2. Select 'White Bread' and '1 lbs' loaf setting.
3, Select your desired crust setting. I normally select 'Medium'.
4. Let the bread machine do its magic!

Last night's dinner: Roast beef sandwich with homemade bread and homemade horseradish mustard sauce with a side of salad and homemade dressing inspired by Olive Garden's salad dressing.
