I know I have been on a recent Canadian brand makeup binge and today's review is no other than another winner from Annabelle. Just like Essence, Annabelle is fast becoming a firm favourite of mine because I have been seriously impressed by everything that I have tried from the brand.
Drugstore eyeshadows are very tricky, some are lovely but majority are chalky, powdery with terrible pigmentation. I had no expectations whatsoever when I bought this eyeshadow quad but I am happy to report that this has to be one of the best drugstore eyeshadows that I've ever tried.
|Swatches are one swipe without primer|
Annabelle Eyeshadow Quad in Chai Chai Chai consists of four shimmery eyeshadows in creme, gold, bronze and dark brown shades and I do think it suits every skin tone. This palette is very versatile, I can use it for a day time look or vamp it up with a dark smokey eyes for the evening.
I can't get over how smooth and buttery these shadows feel! It literally felt like silk under my fingers and it's an absolute dream to blend. There is zero fall out and the pigmentation is so good that I don't even need a primer before application. I had a full 9 hours wear without primer but do keep in mind that I don't have oily lids. My eyelids are drier than my face, it's that horrid.
Packaging wise, the eyeshadows are housed is a simple, black plastic compact with a clear lid so you are able to see the shades. It's nothing special but it's sturdy and definitely travel friendly.
I am so impressed by quality of these eyeshadows that I am planning to pick up a couple more to add into my collection. These eyeshadows are as good if not better than some high end eyeshadows (I am giving you the dirty look Clarins) that are in my collection.
Kudos Annabelle! I dare say you just gained yourself a new fan in me.
